 Why are SG's property agents so greedy? |

Goodness, are this people the lowest form of life in Singapore?
Why do they have to increase 50% of the rent of an HDB? Supply and demand? This is ridiculous!
Why do they ask 100% commission of the actual rent? Is it supposedly only 50%
Wow, I've never seen unscrupulous and thickfaced agents. Only here in Singapore you'll find them. |

I don't think it's just 50% increase. In some area they are asking more than 100%. Last year (2+1) rate was around 1 K now it's 1.6 to 2 K even I have seen some are asking around 2.5 ?? Try to understand income is not increased 50% so where to pay them ?

| Simple answer, demand and supply, there is more demand than supply. And I think the problem is that rental market is not highly regulated over here. But I did believe reading from iea.org.sg, that there a guidelines governing the amount of commission for each type of house i.e hdb, condo,.... but I aint sure if those guidelines are compulsory by law or just guidelines.... |

| i agreed......all these agent are idiots.........if you call them asking to view a unit, they will tell u pay them a few hundred dollars more and they will arrange the viewing for you |

it is increasing 100% for the rental... how to encourge foreigner to stay in SG?? half of the pay has to pay for the rental, how to survive in SG???.....cham....  |

| Me agree 2..n i found alot of the agentc were 2much n bad...thy said may gav gd service..but oni for whos were giving high budget...maybe we should complaint 2 govement..ist work.? |

This is because no readily information available to tenants.
Who give us an idea that demand are more than supply? who told us? agents?
I'm one of the tenant looking now. |

let's give this agents no-business. ihope websites exclusive for tenants and owners only would be made. with pics of the house.
for greedy agents, i wish your family badluck. i hope you'll have accidents and your kids will be ashamed of your work. |

| You guys....just dun understand one thing.....rental it's not increased by agent..it's landlord asking for the amount they wanna rent out and....commission it's 100% and not 50% if you guys dun believe..pls go and check IEA..thank you. |

Foreign F**kers!! Leave singapore and go back to your country if you can't cope and take what's happening in Singapore.. I think you all can't reach english properly?? This is for HDB for rent section and not for blaming, complaining agents/owners/tenants or your family members. If you cant' read english, I suggest go back to your country and learn english first and then come back.
The admin will be informed and the thread starter IP address will be banned in the future. |

No need to be that rude..
if no foreigner you also can not get any money. and for foreigner if there is no agent, u also hardly find a room rite. so ...

| Just because someone complains about housing agents you threaten to get the person banned. That's a scare tactic. There is no reason for a person to be banned simply for airing the situation he or she is facing. Your post is quite rude too. |

yep.. but this place is not for complaints or whatsoever. this place is for rent for HDBs. If he wants, he could post at some other place. That's what he meant.
and also threadstarter should read the rules and regulations and make sure that he understands before he post. |

You guys r just a frog in a well, when problem arise, u guys will put all blame to agent. If you want to pay 100% com to agent, dont complaint. There are agent who only collect 50%, why dont go through to them???
We don't call the shot in term of renting, the owner is the one who command the rental. We as a agent is providing our service to our landlord & our tenants
After reading maill from tenants from all countrys, some even curse the family or other agent. You r all just a disgrace to yourself & people in your country by writting such mails.
Bare in mind, there are always good & bad people in the world, which mean, every mountain have different height. That goes to tenants & even landlord, just grown up & move on in life. |

If you can't afford to pay the rent or commission to agent, due to high rent in Spore, you should pack & go back to your home town. DO NOT, I repete again, DO NOT ever talk bad about Singapore in term of their performance.
Because of you, you have cause many unhappieness between others. you should be ashame of yourself who ever you are. |
