I’m no guru, but I think ppty prices will fall further (if they have been falling already). And don’t trust agents. It’s always in their interest to transact. They’ll say anything to make you buy / sell. Don’t believe me? Randomly call up 10 agents- all will tell you it’s a good time to buy NOW

Today Strait Times has a story about high end condo prices dropping.
That wont be too good for market sentiment.

I am comfortable holding my condo right now because rental yield is good. But the possible price depreciation is making me think of selling and cashing out now.

Can get into property again next year.

Hi All,

We are about to witness a major crash in Singapore property market by the end of this year. I am confident.

Few weeks ago, Myanmar news saw more than 100,000 people died from cyclone and now, we have thousands of people in China, which about to organise the Olympics, died from a major earthquake. In Lebanon, a civil unrest is in the making and the rest of the developing world is facing a huge shortage of food products which will lead to chaos and riots.

So, we know whats truly coming to the global economy. I feel real sorry for those optimistic guys as they have run out of ideas altogether to boost the property market. Only idiots will go pay high price for properties now. With so much major disasters happening within 1 year itself, this really sounds bad for the year of 2008. Really an unlucky year for all of us.

The US economy is about to collapse soon with the sub-prime crisis moving one level up in its complexity next year. Singapore will be in a big mess end of this year onward.

Lets all of us watch the major doomsday which will about to unfold by the end of this year. This economic downturn will be the worst we have ever seen in our lifetime. I feel so fortunate that I have unloaded all my properties early this year.

Guys holdon to a major economic earthquake soon and a major collapse in the property market !

The Sail TOP soon
Seaview TOP soon
Cosmopolitan TOP soon
Rivergates TOP soon
Sentosa Cove condos TOP soon
One Amber TOP soon
Watermark TOP soon
Riveredge TOP soon
Casa Merah TOP soon
Varsity Park TOP soon
....and the list goes on and on and on ! Perpetually.

These few I manage to list will bring in an additional 6,000 new units to an economy which is in the midst of a definite slowdown

Luxury home prices down 2.1%, says report

HIGH-END homes have become the first to buckle under the pressure of volatile market conditions and gloomy buyer sentiment.

All that foreclosure activity added to the glut of homes on the market. The total inventory has risen to an average of 10 months worth of unsold homes. In addition, a record number - 2.9 million - of vacant homes are up for sale, according to the Census Bureau.

Over last weekend, flip newspaper again to look for property.. I realised that advertisement is getting lesser & lesser. Dist 1-8 use to be almost 3 page full, now only 1-2 pages. Dist 9-10, 11-21 also much lesser & same to others. Seems that not many sellers willing to sell their house.

So went to view Raintree at Up Bt. Timah, some unit quite keen but was sold or seller not willing to neg much.
Today went Varsity Pk at West Coast to take a comparison, the unit I have seen, the agent informed me just sold tonite, eventhrough I have made an offer this afternoon. Over there, I saw some advertisement hanging on the unit, out of about 4 that I called, 2 already sold. Other than that the better facing not many are selling.

It seems like the market is moving again & I realise that the price is also transacted higher. I just couldn't get any good deal. Rolling Eyes

Well, after the above I finally bought the Raintree. I realised that price are climbing on this project which I'm interested in, so I do not want to wait thinking the market will go down. Heard from recent few buyers who bought it now is above $800psf, which is up from recent transacted price of $700+psf.
Thanks for reading.
