Hi If you are the Tenant, Owner have the right to keep a sapre key of the new pad lock that you have change.
Do read your tenancy agreement it is a must.

We are new tenants of a whole unit. Owner mentioned that he might need the key to our new padlock, which we find dodgy. I have never heard of this. We would feel uneasy and insecure to have a stranger enter our home without us being around. Anyone who could inform us of the tenant's rights, we would most appreciate your help. Thanks in advance. |

| you are renting the house atmost less then 2.5k a month but the owner is paying the house at a few hundred k, so i don't see the reason why he cant's keep a spare key of the new pad lock that you have changed. |
