I'm not difficult. You all just can't accept the truth. A coward like you can only send a message as a Guest!...That's all you can do. Twisted Evil

I don't think the writer is a coward. Cahya Suci, there are many response to your post, all alluding to you being petty and difficult; which you disclaim.

Better for you to do self reflection. At the same time, those who ask you to sell yourself or sell your daughter are totally ridiculous.

Cahya Suci, don't be depaired by all negative comments posted by anonymous(guess they've either never own or let their rooms, or just purely some unhappy tenants.) HOUSE RULES ARE NECESSARY. And i don't think you're being too strict? Without rule, trust me, your house will be in a mess and you're end up be the tenant's maid by picking up their shit.

Personally, i've rented out 2 of my rooms with strict house rules. But of course, there're times we, owner, have to "close-one-eye" as long as tenants are abiding and don't give problem.

Thanks For Your Understanding Post22 Jul 08 8:55 am
Dear Ms/Mr Anonymous,
Thanks for understanding my situations. I'm neither petty nor too strict. I just want everything to be in order...tenants & owners are suppose to help each other when we're living in the same house. This people doesn't have any sense at all. It's ok. This is part & parcel of life. There are more worse landlords outhere maybe they just have not encounter any.

Race dont matter. In my experience I found Chinese owners super fussy. Want to inspect house every weekend, super kiasu when it comes to spending money on any small house maintenance. Also very fussy about cooking. The Malay landlord I had was a cab driver. Pretty easy going. Became good friends with him.

Agree that race don't matter. What matters is the personality of the person, both tenant and landloard. If the two parties get along and become good friends, it will be easy going character. If they don't get along and a war breaks out, then both will accuse the other of being difficult.

You are totally right. Remember my previous room tenant, she's a NUS student from China, during fasting month, while I baked cookies, she was there offered herself to help me in the kitchen.I never nag at my tenants. We was happy & get along very well. She bought a shawl for me & I gave her a dress as return for her kindness. New year eve 2008, my family & I hold a bbq gathering at Pasir Ris, we invited her with her friends, she & her friend came along enjoying the food we made... How funny when I recalled she's actually approached a passerby to snap pictures with all of my family including me... Cool

Dont see your point to post such topic here. You are a grown up, do something more meaningful instead of keep ranting here and causing people to smirk at you and despising you.

Suci,

To better help you. I suggest the following:

Post the details of your room (eg. w/ air-con, cooking, etc.) and the rental fee, tenure of rental agreement & deposit required, including your address (eg. Chao Chu Kang, Blk xxx, mid floor/ high floor, near MRT, etc and your hp.

Post your House Rules that you want tenant to observe such as switching off lights whenever they are not in room, etc.

If agents or customers think that they can accept the rules and the fees, they can approach you and close the deal.

Do you think this is helpful for you? Alternatively, you can consider some earlier suggestions about getting credit from bank, speak to MP to sell your flat, etc to raise the money you need. Cheers.
