Unreasonable landlords Post24 Aug 08 10:05 am
I rented a place a year ago and recently finished my lease. After a month of moving out, the landlord still refused to retun my deposit blaming me for spoiling the washing machine when I have my own. Did asked him to take it away when I first moved in as no one needs two washing machine. But he refused!!! Any advise? please help! The keys have already been returned to him.

have you checked whether it is really boiled? any evidence to show that you did not use his washing machine?

If his washing machine is out of warranty, you could ask for depreciated value (<100 for 3 years used). Just give him that amount and get the rest of the amount back.

If he refuses to do so, you could sue him to court to take the rest of the amount back. You'd better to record any sms/voice conversation with owner in this case. It will provide evidences to court when requests.
