I just rented a nice 2 bedroom for 900 with 2 air con n partially furnish in Bt Batok.

I DID NOT rent a place via this website but I flipped the CHINESE PAPERS and newspapers.

I have tried very hard to find a place using this website BUT

1. MANY agents here only pro landlord - they act more for the landlord than the tenants though we pay the same commission.

2. EVEN MORE agents here are rude and unprofessional - their mothers did not teach them any better - and definitely daddy did not teach them courtesy. They are more stuck up than a baboon's butt - so what property scoring high now, the time will come soon when the property plunges and these commission suckers will wag their tails again soon.

3. THE RATES ARE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THOSE IN THE PAPERS.

4. REPEAT: THE RATES ARE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THOSE IN THE PAPERS.

Therefore, if any of you are any smarter, the ads here (cos they are free and can last, unlike the newspapers - paid) the brokers can advertise higher rates and buy time. Go browse the papers, plenty of them compared to the more expensive ones here.

AND WATCH OUT FOR THE TERM FURNISHED - usually lousy furniture and mattresses that stink. When I shifted, one agent replied to me to collect some old furniture (which I wanted to donate to SALVATION army) despite telling him furniture in bad condition. THEN he came collected the better one, i told him the mattress and bed frame no good as a dog chewed it badly and shit on the mattress - so I want to dump - HE SAID NEVERMIND ITS FOR RENTAL NOT FOR OWNER'S USE - He is from a big housing agency here.

Good luck people if you want to find property here. There MAY be some good ones but if u check the papers and check here, you will know what I mean.

In every line there are bad hats, thing goess both ways and I believe respect begets respect. In chosing of service look for the right one with the right attitude. There is no such thing as higher or lower. There is only percieved rentable price and real price. the viewing process is for prospective tenant to guage for themself if the place is value for monies or it is not worth it.

If items are not there, ask for more specific details and it should have been highlighted in the LOI or in the absence highlighted in the signing of TA and pay balance sum when sastisfied. The quality of furnish commesurate with the monies paid.

The market has 2 ways and early last years, owners were complaining that agents are pro-tenant. Waht is real is agents are people who will broker a middle ground to creat a win-win. (in the process cushion the ugly words from both or either side, and are paid on sucess rate)

Have a heart for the real realtors and you will probably be smiling your way home (moveing in). Be fair and most time the deal will be fairly dealt with. Bad ahts there will be, bad news travel but good news or good seldom get recognised.

Is it true? Many in the papers are already co-broke and many times when go will have to up price because they said the unit already rented out and so on and so forth. ! house many advertise, don't know why these agents so much monies anyhow spend.

i agree with your, now very hard to find a common in Jurong area, i call so many agent to check their all say no more or now the price very expensive, 1 person need S$550, their thought the house is bangalow, if the owner get S$600 per room per man, but the man always make noise, tidy, drug, drink in side the room, how the onwer feel? "never mind i got money" maybe the owner will think like this..... we are worker we just came here for work, we try to earn more money for family, we stay in singapore not only saving, we also have to paid tax (More than you), GST (we cant get refund), SP Bill (share wth onwer)....etc in the end we just keep small money for family, i konw that is our problem, and also the onwer will say everthing expensive la, SP bill going up la,.... why when gov refund some money to them, their did not share with us, WHY?

if u r not happy here go back to your country where it is cheaper.we singaporeans are also struggling and we dont complain but just try our best to survive. we have gone through a lot of suffering to be where we are.we had worked hard when we were young too.now a lot of senior citizens and those above 50 cannot find jobs even. how do u think we feel?

I'm a landlord myself. Out of gd will, i gif a $30 rental discount early tis yr as i got that utilities rebate of $95(approx.) from the govt. But end up tenant duno how to automatic, anyhow abuse electricity. Example : go to bathe w/o switching off fan, light, TV...etc.

So hack, i nv gif any discount anymore.
