Case Study... rental Post07 Sep 07 9:28 am
I got a phone call from Ms XXX, saying that she have a common room for rent @ Bishan. So I questioned her more abt that common room, excellent location, fully furnished, etc but only to found out that she is the tenant and she'll be moving in on 1st Oct. She needs help on sub-letting that common room.

She said she rented that 3 room flat for $1700 and she would require other room-mates to share the other room.

If the figures she gave was the fact... then, in my opinion, it could be that her flatmates back out the deal, hence she had to find a replacement. She is asking for $800 for a common room without a/con at bishan.

I am not laughing at her plight, but just wana share this with other tenants... before you commit yourself, make sure the rate is competitive. Sub-letting require the permission of the owner. And also, it's tough for anyone to assist you if the rates is very high.

Maybe she got cheated by her flatmates as she may think more ppl share, the rental price will be higher. Unless she can get someone she knows to share with her, or else who on earth wanna rent $800 for a room??
