Tenant from Philippines - Landlord/Owner MUST read

Juz to share mi experience on a filipina tenant.

6 months ago, i rented out my masterbed room to a filipina, and my nightmare beings.....

On the very first night, i heard loud stamping sound (Repeat stamping of feet onto the ground) coming out of her room. Thinking that this is just a one-off incident, i choose to ignore it. But, it happen again on the following day.It was really irritating. In order to have a peace of mind, and to avoid getting complaint from neighbour below, i approached her the third day and asked her to stop making those noise.

It stopped for a few days before making a come back. (Not as loud as before but enough to irritate me.)

Within the six months stay, i notice that she changed job twice. (Not too sure if she quit or being fired, but probable the later.) Yesterday was her last day in Singapore as she failed to secure a job here and decided to leave.(According to her, she's just taking a short-break.)

A week before, she told me that she'll be leaving at 4am (26/11/200. I thought nothing of it as i do have tenant catching flights in the middle on the night. So, i tell her to wake me up at half an hour before so that i could do a check on the appliances and refund her deposit.

On 26/11/2008 at around 4:45am, she came and asked me for the deposit. As usual, i, as a owner, need to do a check before releasing her deposit. But, she looked in a rush and keeps rushing me to open the dooor for her. Seeing her in such a rush, it gives an impression that she's rushing to catch her flight. In viewing of her urgency, hastily, i refund her deposit and even help her carry her lugguage to the roadside and hail a taxi for her before heading home.

Guess what, i got a shock after doing a thorough check on all fittings of the room. Here's a breakdown of items she'd spoilt.

1. TV (Screen Blueish instead of colour.)
2. Chair - clearly vandalised, deep cutting marks are seen.
3. Toiletbowl cover - Large crack, need to be replaced.
4. DVD player - won't eject.
5. PC - monitor/mouse's dead.
6. Towel Hanger(Bathroom) - Borke into two.

Besides, i also notice spider webs bult up on the window frame and layers of dust covering the TV, DVD player, keyboard....etc.

I've heard bad things about china tenant, but not much about filipinos. I'll never rent out my room to filipino again.

Every race got bad eggs.........its no good to say all phillipinos are bad. I assume you're a singaporean and i'm a singaporean chinese too. I've seen many ugly side of singaporeans too so how to explain this? Its not gd to condemn a certain race cos everywhere and every race got bad eggs.

the most terrible is myanmmar..i rent my room in condo to them they make like house is theirs and i agree to light cooking but they do heavy cooking i told the wife nicely and the husband and wife give me attitute then washing machine wash 3 peice of clothes a day!The best is ang moh my german couple never give me any problems..

What was that sound? What she could be doing?
